Nashville, TN (January 22, 2007) – 4-time Grammy Award-winning bluegrass musician Earl Scruggs is back in the studio. This legendary member of the Flatt and Scruggs duo – who forever became part of popular culture by creating and performing the theme song to “The Beverly Hillbillies” – is lending his name and his talents to the debut label project of a young bluegrass artist named Elizabeth “Lizzy” Long. Little Roy Lewis, 7-time GMA/Dove Award-winning front man for The Lewis Family -- recent inductees into the Hall of Honor of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) – joins Scruggs and Long for this one-of-a-kind recording.

The release, entitled Lifetimes – Lewis, Scruggs & Long, was produced by Wayne Haun and Kevin Ward of Vine Records, and highlights the talents of 23-year-old Long. Her memorable style has been seasoned through years of touring and performing with artists more than twice her age, and this recording captures her prowess on multiple instruments and her unforgettable voice.

Earl Scruggs and Little Roy Lewis, longtime mentors to the breakthrough artist, encouraged Long to create this once-in-a-lifetime project.

“I have been traveling for many years, but it is seldom that you see such a talented newcomer as Elizabeth Long,” stated Scruggs. “She’ll be a household name among bluegrass fans.”

Listeners can look forward to traditional bluegrass favorites and instrumentals on this release, as well as original compositions written by Long, Haun, and a list of award-winning writers including Barry Dean, Don Poythress, Joel Lindsey, Wayne Kirkpatrick, and Mac Wiseman.

“It is a dream come true for me to record with two of my favorite musicians—one a longtime friend, one a newfound favorite,” stated Little Roy, who has toured for over forty years with the legendary Lewis Family.

Lifetimes will hit shelves on April 16, 2007, and will be distributed by Crossroads Marketing and Distribution, of Asheville, NC.
